Remote skills based volunteering with young people

Volunteer to give young people the tech innovation skills to thrive
Apps for Good computing courses give students the skills to shape their future with technology. Your expertise enables them to practise their new skills in a real-life environment, while inspiring them to pursue careers in technology.
How does industry volunteering work?
You register on our platform and we’ll email you when a teacher requests a session, or you can login and check what sessions are available.
Teachers request a volunteer to remotely dial into their class to give feedback on their students’ tech for good product ideas and share an insight into future careers.
After you’ve signed up to a session the teacher will contact you with a video call link and all the details you’ll need.
Sessions usually last no more than an hour and you can volunteer for as many as you like - once a year or once a week.
Our other volunteers tell us...

It is a fantastic opportunity to be able to spend time helping students, challenge them in a positive way, assist in their progress through the Apps for Good programme and hopefully have a positive impact on their education

Who can be an Industry Volunteer?
Almost anyone can be an Apps for Good Industry Volunteer. You don’t need to be a “techie” - we want young people to see the diversity of roles available to them. All you need is a positive and constructive approach to giving feedback.
